Vice Chair Rick Lewis moved to adopt the House Committee on Emergency Management and Veterans’ proposed rules dated Feb. 3, 2026; the committee then adopted the rules by roll call. Committee staff told members the changes were minor, chiefly an update to carryover rules (House Rule 8.2) and an adjustment to the minority report deadline language to the next business day.
Clerk roll call responses were: President Boies — Aye; President Evans — Excused; President Graver — Aye; President Villalado — Aye; Vice Chair Lewis — Aye; Vice Chair Wojnarowicz — Aye; Chair Craig — Aye. The chair announced, “The motion passes and the rules are adopted.”
The adoption concluded the organizational portion of the meeting and the chair immediately opened a series of public hearings on three bills. No amendments to the proposed committee rules were offered during the meeting.
