Board authorizes food-service RFP and approves E‑Rate application; finance report shows stronger collections

The board approved moving forward with the RFP.
On technology, district staff requested approval to apply for E‑Rate funding to replace head‑end network switches that support building wireless systems. The presenter said the current E‑Rate discount rate is 60 percent and asked for authorization to submit the application and proceed with the bidding process; the board approved the application by voice vote.
On district finances, the business office reported stronger real‑estate tax collections (92.18% collected July–October versus 87.16% the prior year) and one‑time receipts including a $500,000 state 'cleaning' payment and smaller transfers and donations. The board approved an out‑of‑cycle assembly expense for a Rockin' Yoga presentation ($1,900) and approved additional bills and routine reports by voice vote.
