New board members sworn in; Todd Hernandez elected president

The Northwestern Lehigh School District board on Dec. 9 accepted certificates of election and administered the oath of office to four newly elected directors, then elected its officers for the year.
Per a certification read into the record, Todd Hernandez received 3,374 votes, Rebecca Hite received 3,260 votes, Lauren Hunsicker received 3,647 votes and Jennifer Cenovitis received 3,189 votes. Judge Tom Creighton administered the oath of office to all four, asking them to “raise their right hand” and recite the oath to “support, obey and defend the Constitution of the United States and the constitution of this commonwealth” and to “fulfill the duties of my position as a school board director.”
After the swearing-in, the board nominated and elected Todd Hernandez as president by voice vote. The board also elected Todd Leiser as vice president. The reorganizational business concluded and the board immediately convened its regular meeting, approving the agenda and the minutes from its Nov. 19 meeting by voice votes.
The meeting record shows the swearing-in certificates and the votes were read aloud during the reorganizational portion; the board returned to regular business without delay.
