City staff presented bids received for the proposed amphitheater. The submitted amounts varied widely depending on scope (fencing versus full amphitheater): S and S Fencing submitted a fencing bid for $23,371.50; PACE Contracting submitted a full bid of $3,249,000; Dean Builds Inc $3,280,000; Calhoun/Brenda Construction $3,334,000; Sullivan & Cozart $3,703,620; Martin Construction $4,400,000; Hagerman $4,285,800; and Doss & Horky $4,296,638.09.
Staff said they would compile the packages into a single bid tab, provide the tab to council and distribute renderings and detailed breakdowns. Council discussed sponsorships for some elements (signage) and a donor for the sign was noted; the council asked staff to coordinate follow-up to confirm scope and financial documentation before recommending a contractor.
