Seaman USD 345 recognizes STEM and theatre teachers; curriculum office highlights CTE and literacy training

Seaman USD 345 used part of its Feb. 2026 meeting to honor local teachers and highlight curriculum work.
Speaker 5 announced that Seaman High School chemistry teacher and robotics coach Chris Goble received the Kansas Society of Professional Engineers outstanding teacher award for his work with VEX robotics teams and CTE advisory efforts. Goble thanked the board, administrators and students for supporting the program.
Speaker 5 also congratulated Michael Soffer, who was named Kansas Thespians Region 3 Teacher of the Year; Soffer described the theater program’s statewide participation and upcoming productions.
Megan reported on curriculum activities: February is parent‑teacher conference month and CTE Month; the district has seen a rise in internship enrollments credited to CTE coordinator Tatiana Dowling. She also previewed MTSS literacy training for teacher teams to support data‑driven literacy instruction and the district’s standards‑alignment process.
