Lewiston—s City Council voted to authorize release of the city—s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) for the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, 2025, after Fresno Gage presented an audit with unmodified (clean) opinions on the city—s governmental activities, business-type activities and major federal programs.
City Treasurer/Finance Director Amy Gordon thanked staff for the multi-month audit preparation and introduced Fresno Gage—s associate partner, Dawn Aliberte, who presented the audit results. Aliberte said the firm—s procedures were performed in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards and that the audit provided reasonable—not absolute—assurance that the financial statements were free of material misstatement. She also reported a clean internal-control opinion on financial reporting and a clean report on compliance for major federal programs.
Councilor Forsman moved to approve the ACFR for release; Councilor Spickelmeyer seconded and the motion carried on roll-call vote. The auditors requested that the council authorize publication of the audited statements as presented.
Next steps: The city will release the final audited financial statements and continue any required reporting or follow-up recommended by the auditors.
