Elliott said Nye County has already met the required matches through existing task orders with airport engineering firm Atkins, so accepting the awards requires no additional county cash outlay.
Commissioners discussed the timing and asked staff to pursue emergency agenda procedures where feasible for future rapid deadlines. After questions on single‑audit requirements and that the airport improvement capital plan and bids had been discussed earlier, the board ratified the chair's prior acceptances by recorded vote (three separate grant ratifications recorded 4‑0).
Next steps: staff will execute grant paperwork and proceed with project contracting and reporting through the airport engineer and grant administration.
