Nye Communities Coalition reports clinic, reentry and SOAR results; ARPA funding to spend out

Ryan Muccio, president of the board of Nye Communities Coalition, briefed the Board on program outcomes funded under the county's ARPA recovery plan.
Muccio said the Coalition's remote-area medical clinic served 379 patients with more than $250,000 in care and that a 10-year clinic schedule is planned with the next clinic in October 2025. He reported that reentry services helped 58 people leaving incarceration with case management, employment and training connections, and that the SOAR benefit specialist assisted 50 individuals with benefits, records requests and representative-payee referrals.
The Coalition said ARPA-funded grants will be spent out by the end of calendar year 2024 but that alternate funding is lined up to continue programs in 2025. Commissioners praised the outcomes and asked staff to ensure continuity of services; Muccio said the programs achieved measurable outcomes that helped secure additional funding.
