Marty Garrity, director of the Bureau of Legislative Research, told the committee that the Bureau undertakes an independent audit every two years and that the most recent audit produced no findings.
"Just wanna let this committee know that every 2 years the Bureau undergoes its own audit. We hire an independent auditor and we got the results and, the Bureau had no findings in its last audit. So I'm happy to report that," Garrity said. The director presented the audit result as an informational update; the transcript does not include further discussion, questions, or follow-up tasks tied to the audit report.
The announcement came under "other business" after the committee had taken action on a waiver request from the Jackson County School District. The meeting adjourned shortly after the audit announcement.
