At its Feb. 18 meeting the Charlton Planning Board took multiple procedural votes to continue or extend items on its agenda.
The board agreed to continue the decommissioning bond matter for the renewable‑energy project at 261 North Sturbridge Road (the property was noted as having changed hands from NextEra to Madison Energy). Planning staff said back taxes and permit revocation had been resolved by the new owner and that additional bond‑holder information and decommissioning details remain outstanding. The applicant requested a continuance to March 4 to produce the needed documentation.
The board also continued the public hearing for GM Properties LLC ("The Villages," a multifamily proposal at 35 North Main Street) to March 18 at the applicant’s request. A separate public hearing for the Ponican (Plunkett) Hill definitive subdivision modification was continued to March 4.
Separately, the board voted to grant an extension for the CARE trolley‑crossing multifamily project — the board said building‑elevation/facade plans are required before the town can issue any building permits and agreed to an administrative extension to allow time for those materials to be submitted.
The board recorded the continuances and set the next hearing dates publicly so abutters and the public will have notice of the rescheduled sessions.
