Audit: 303 of 383 law-enforcement agencies submitted racial-profiling policies; AG notified 108 nonresponders

Legislative Audit staff presented a special report on agencies' compliance with Arkansas Code 12-12-14-3, saying auditors received responses from 303 of 383 law-enforcement agencies for the 2025 reporting period and forwarded updated policies and a list of suspected noncompliant agencies to the Attorney General.
Charlie Camp, who presented the report to the Legislative Joint Auditing Committee, said the Attorney General's office had notified the 108 agencies that auditors believed had not complied. Representative Meeks asked whether the AG had taken further steps since the December 16 letter; Camp said only that the AG had contacted those agencies and that responses to the audit have increased since the prior cycle.
A committee member requested a copy of the list of agencies that had not responded; the chair agreed the committee would receive that list. Audit staff said the legislative audit's role is to collect policies submitted to it and forward updated policies and noncompliance names to the Attorney General; the office does not solicit policies or actively pursue agencies that failed to respond.
The committee filed the special report without objection and asked staff to provide the requested list of nonresponders to members for follow-up.
