The Fresno County Board of Supervisors on Feb. 10 adopted a text amendment to the county zoning ordinance that corrects typographical errors and unintended ambiguities identified after the 2024 comprehensive zoning ordinance update.
Chris Motta of the Department of Public Works and Planning described the item as a housekeeping measure that compiles staff‑identified corrections and clarifications presented in redline format in the planning commission staff report. The planning commission recommended approval at its December hearing, Motta said.
Supervisor discussion included a question about whether a separate zoning change to expand temporary "mill" operations outside an emergency declaration could be handled in this package; planning staff said that would require CEQA analysis and is not appropriate to include in this cleanup item.
The board adopted the amendment unanimously, directed staff to file a notice of exemption under CEQA as appropriate and designated county counsel to prepare a fair and adequate summary for public posting.
