Plumas JJCC approves minutes and appoints Alyssa Thompson as public‑defender representative

The Plumas County Juvenile Justice Coordinating Council took two formal actions at its Jan. 28 meeting: it approved minutes from the Oct. 22, 2025 meeting and appointed Alyssa Thompson to fill the public-defender seat on both the JJCC and the SBA 23 subcommittee.
Chair Keaton Allred opened the items by asking for a motion on the October minutes; following a motion and second the committee voted by voice. Allred announced, “Motion passes and minutes are approved.”
Later the chair noted a vacancy created by the departure of public defender Craig Osborne and said he was grateful that Alyssa Thompson had agreed to serve. “I would like to nominate Miss Thompson as the representative or public defender,” Allred said. Members moved and seconded the nomination and approved the appointment by voice vote.
Allred said he will check whether statutory notification to the county board is required before the appointment is officially finalized and will keep the committee informed ahead of the next meeting in April.
