Yuba County approves $53,375 increase for court-appointed jail monitor contract

Bender said the monitor "assesses and advises the parties and the court on the jail's compliance with the second amended consent decree." No public comment was offered on the item.
A board member moved to approve the amendment and, after a roll-call vote, the motion passed. Supervisors voted in favor without recorded dissents.
The board did not amend the terms of the consent decree or the monitor's scope; Bender said the change only adjusts the contract maximum to cover added services. The board did not set an effective date beyond the contract period described in the staff report.
The action was taken during the regular meeting's consent/agreement items and requires the county to track the appropriation used to fund the increase.
