Yuba County adopts refreshed strategic plan for 2026–2029

County Administrator Kevin Mallon presented a refresh of Yuba County’s strategic plan for 2026–2029 and asked the board to adopt updated organizational objectives designed to be more relatable across departments. Mallon said the current plan adopted in July 2023 provided a useful format and the refresh focuses on simplifying and clarifying three‑year objectives tied to a four‑pillar framework: County Services, Community Growth, Community Engagement and County Culture.
Mallon described objectives such as expanding service delivery options across in‑person, phone and online channels; enhancing infrastructure and partnering with local districts; promoting tourism and community awareness; and maximizing staff development through training and mentorship. He said the next step after board adoption is to have departments translate the objectives into tactical priorities during the annual budget process.
Supervisors praised the clarity and visual appeal of the refreshed plan and asked staff to ensure departmental buy‑in and public outreach; the board approved the update by motion.
