The Hampton Bays Union Free School District Board of Education recognized several students at its Feb. 10 business meeting.
Mr. Meyer (Speaker 4) introduced the elementary student of the month, Carter (identified in the transcript as Carter Schmidt), praising his classroom leadership and kindness. “Carter has been a shining example of kindness in our classroom,” Mr. Meyer said.
A middle-school presenter (Speaker 6) introduced sixth-grader Morgan Tuttle, noting her responsibility, collaborative work in group settings, involvement in drama and athletics and enthusiasm for ELA and social studies.
Assistant Principal (Speaker 7) presented Vassal Ian Dotson as the high-school student of the month, describing his intense AP coursework, research experience with a university mentor and participation in choir and athletics. The assistant principal noted Dotson’s AP Capstone distinction and catalogued his academic and extracurricular honors.
Assistant Principal (Speaker 7) also presented Luisa Rivera Galarza with her diploma and congratulated her on graduating; the presenter noted Luisa’s efforts studying while working and learning English.
Transcripts show inconsistent spellings of some student names and school names across different portions of the record; those inconsistencies are noted in reporting and are being flagged for confirmation by district staff.
