Tehama County Health Services issues measles alert after Shasta County case; no local cases reported

Tehama County Health Services staff briefed the Board of Supervisors Feb. 3 that a confirmed measles case was reported in Shasta County and that no confirmed cases exist in Tehama County.
Jamie Botke said public-health officials issued a provider alert asking clinicians to consider measles in patients presenting generalized symptoms and urged residents to ensure their vaccinations are up to date for prevention.
County staff said they will continue contact with regional public-health partners and that additional guidance will be published if local cases are identified.
