The Health Services Agency read a proclamation recognizing February as Senior Independence Month, noting that roughly 21% of the county’s population is age 65 or older and emphasizing strategies to support independence; proclamation adopted unanimously.
The board also approved a resolution designating the Tehama County Arts Council as the county’s local partner with the California Arts Council for fiscal year 2026–27. Chrissy Clapp and Lisa Defonte described council programs, funding (typical state funds around $65,000), and community events such as Missoula Children’s Theatre residency and countywide student contests. Clapp noted the council operates without county facility space or regular financial support and welcomed any available county assistance.
