Hughson staff presented an all-way stop warrant analysis for the intersection of Euclid Avenue and Whitmore Avenue and recommended no change in stop control after reviewing traffic volumes, crash data and combined warrant criteria.
Miss Dominique told council the analysis produced the same determination as a prior study for Euclid and Fox Road (near Samaritan Village) and that the engineer concluded a recent crash in the area would not change the report’s findings: "the identified criteria for consideration of an all way stop sign control are not met at the subject intersection," she said. Staff said the document helps protect the city from future liability tied to the formal analysis.
Council asked whether other traffic-calming measures could be pursued; staff said engineers could evaluate solar-powered flashing speed signs or other signage and report back. The item was informational and required no council action.
