Sutter County joins AARP age-friendly network; board honors retiree and approves IHSS wage increase and fire-engine budget adjustment

The Sutter County Board of Supervisors on Oct. 28 heard recognition and community-focused items and approved routine actions that affect county operations and services.
Presentations and recognitions: Pam Miller, executive director of the Area Agency on Aging, and Don Angelo, AARP's Sacramento regional director, presented the county's Local Aging and Disability Action Plan (LADAP) and announced Sutter County's enrollment in the AARP Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities. Miller summarized five strategic priorities in the plan, including affordable housing and emergency preparedness; transportation; health-care access and caregiver support; nutrition and food security; and social engagement.
