Sutter County staff departure noted; commissioner updates city variance and pending appeal for Waffle Barn site

"There was a variance made, so the standard setback for car wash is a 100 feet. And so they made a variance the city did to allow 10 feet," Knorr said. He said several nearby residents opposed the decision and have retained an attorney and that the decision is now being appealed.
Another commissioner noted that the city is changing the structure of its planning commission so county representation will remain but as a nonvoting advisory seat; commissioners confirmed that understanding. The transcript does not provide a date for the appeal hearing.
