The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a personal‑services agreement appointing Gigi Myrtle as the county’s Director of Child Support Services.
Human Resources Director Janelle Crane introduced the item, explaining the director is appointed by the board and is responsible for administering all child support services, including establishing paternity and enforcing orders. Crane said the department managed over 9,000 cases in 2024 and distributed more than $30 million supporting some 13,100 children across the county.
Myrtle, who has worked in the department for nearly 13 years and served as acting director since June, addressed the board and described her family background, her path to Sonoma County and her commitment to children and families. The approved agreement places her at the A‑step of the salary range with an annual salary of $199,299.09 and standard county benefits.
Chair Hopkins and colleagues praised Myrtle’s experience and the board approved the agreement by voice vote with enthusiastic applause.
