Westminster officials praise police hiring success; internships and awards ceremony announced

In departmental reports, Miss Gruber of the police department announced the restart of McDaniel College internships; two seniors majoring in criminal justice began internships to assist with crime analysis and social media. "This partnership supports student development while providing meaningful assistance to the department," Miss Gruber said. She also announced the department's annual award ceremony is scheduled for April 15 at the new Wakefield Valley venue.
Councilmembers and staff thanked officers and support staff for their work during recent storms, and credited residents for helping clear Main Street and Pennsylvania Avenue so crews could perform curb-to-curb snow removal. The meeting record did not include a formal vote on policing matters; these were informational reports and acknowledgments.
