YUBA COUNTY, Calif. — At its meeting Tuesday, the Yuba County Board of Supervisors approved a slate of annual assessment actions and enacted a county fee ordinance. The board also introduced an ordinance repealing the Yuba County Library Advisory Commission for further consideration.
Gledhill Landscape and Lighting District The board held a public hearing and adopted a resolution confirming the diagram and assessments for the Gledhill Landscape and Lighting District. Staff said the assessment remains $13.20 per unit and will generate roughly $49,000 to maintain landscape and park services in the district. Roll call: Supervisors Vasquez, House, Feuer and Messick voted yes; Supervisor Bradford was absent. Motion passed.
Linda Street Lighting Maintenance District Following staff presentation that the proposed assessment remains $12 per unit (applied across 3,800 units, producing about $46,000) and that total maintenance costs are estimated near $100,000 (supplemented by secured/unsecured taxes), the board adopted the resolution imposing the assessments for the Linda Street Lighting Maintenance District. Roll call recorded Supervisors Vasquez, House, Feuer and Messick as yes; Supervisor Bradford absent. Motion passed.
County fee ordinance (Item 20) The board waived the second reading and adopted an ordinance updating county fees (previous discussion occurred on April 8). Emily Bakken, management analyst in the county administrator’s office, noted staff continue to evaluate specific permit fees raised earlier by Supervisor House and that options will return at the August budget workshops. The ordinance passed on roll call with the same majority.
Library Advisory Commission ordinance (Item 21) The board introduced (first reading) an ordinance to repeal chapter 2.123 of the Yuba County Ordinance Code and abolish the Yuba County Library Advisory Commission, citing persistent commission vacancies and changes in how the library operates. The motion to introduce passed on roll call with Supervisors Vasquez, House, Feuer and Messick voting yes; Supervisor Bradford absent. The ordinance will return for additional readings per the county’s ordinance process.
