The Board of Supervisors on Tuesday approved an employment agreement to appoint Forrest Dean Morgan as Siskiyou County counsel and confirmed two department head appointments.
County Administrator Angela Davis presented a four‑year employment agreement for Morgan covering Jan. 4, 2026, through Jan. 3, 2030, and stated the annual salary for the position would be $264,600.50. After questions from supervisors about federal case admissions and relevant experience, the board moved, seconded and approved the employment agreement by roll‑call vote.
Morgan told the board he will meet individually with supervisors and department heads as he transitions into the role and said he looked forward to serving the county.
The board also appointed Garrett Richardson as director of public works with an effective date of Dec. 9, 2025. Supervisors offered congratulations and the appointment passed on a recorded vote.
Finally, the board approved the appointment of Haley Lane as director of community development, effective Dec. 30, 2025; members praised Lane’s prior work and welcomed her to the role.
Clerks noted that county web pages and staff directories would be updated to reflect the new hires. No legal challenges or contract contingencies were raised during the meeting.
