Copperton declines MSD’s new finance committee pilot; opts to keep payroll vendor for now

MSD said payroll processing fees were similar to Copperton’s current vendor (National Payroll Service), and that Copperton’s payroll profile would remain separate if it switched. Councilors expressed satisfaction with the current vendor and chose not to change payroll providers at this time; MSD staff said they will monitor and report back if a clear operational benefit emerges.
The council approved a motion to keep the recurring finance discussion on workshop agendas and to leave payroll with the existing vendor unless staff later recommends a formal change.
