Enid board approves switch from Remind to ParentSquare to comply with state law

The Enid Public Schools Board of Education on Feb. 17 approved adding ParentSquare to the district’s communication tools to comply with recent state law and replace the Remind platform, which staff said will be discontinued July 1.
"Remind is going away come July 1, and we are gonna make the transition to Parent Square starting July 1," Superintendent Doctor Darrow told the board, explaining that the administration had evaluated several platforms and recommended ParentSquare. The board moved, seconded and voted unanimously to implement ParentSquare this spring as a pilot to "start working out the kinks," the superintendent said, so the full transition is smoother by July.
Board members recorded no public opposition during the vote and no discussion was entered on the record beyond the superintendent's explanation. The move was framed as necessary compliance with House Bill 3958 and as a practical step to prepare coaches, teachers and directors who currently use Remind.
The administration said other communication platforms currently in use will continue while ParentSquare is added for the transition period.
