Council members praised the student presenters and offered staff assistance to recruit colleges and counselors for a combined college fair and seminar approach. The mayor asked staff to work with the students to reserve rooms in Central Park and to provide outreach; the council moved and approved the request and agreed to waive the facility rental fee for the event.
What happens next: Staff will coordinate logistics, outreach to colleges and finalize the program and room reservation; the event organizers will be responsible for program content and volunteer staffing.
