The Siskiyou County Air Pollution Control District board voted to ratify an application to the California Air Resources Board for the 2022 Climate Impact Response Program grant totaling $26,413.
Diane Collier, administrative services manager for the district, said the award is "Moyer related" and can be combined with Carl Moyer funds. "It will add about $3,300 in administrative or implementation revenue for us to reimburse wages," Collier said. The board moved to approve the application and recorded the vote as unanimous by voice in the meeting transcript.
The board also discussed and amended the regular-meeting schedule, agreeing to set the district’s regular quarterly meetings on the third Tuesday of the listed months (February, May, August and October), with special meetings able to be scheduled on other Tuesdays as needed. The clerk indicated staff will prepare a signed copy of the resolution.
Separately, members approved a routine funds item for $257 to the Air Pollution Control District and approved the minutes for Sept. 9, 2025; both motions were carried by voice vote with no opposition recorded.
During closing comments a board member noted the district’s new air pollution control specialist, Preet Bridal, has expended $396,000 in the wood-smoke changeout program since being hired; speakers said that sum came from several years of accumulated funds. A correction to Diane Collier’s title for the minutes (APCD fiscal officer) was requested and will be reflected in the minutes.
