After extended discussion the committee held a roll-call vote on sending the issue to a subcommittee; the motion received six affirmative votes and did not pass. The chair encouraged offline meetings between Daniella and relevant county staff to develop suggested handbook changes and suggested polling commission chairs to collect input before returning to the full committee.
The chair noted the discussion was robust and that staff would help coordinate next steps if the member chooses to pursue further review.
