Public works staff said Wilcox & Flagle were the low fuel bidder at $758,000 and recommended contract execution; the board was also briefed on as-needed civil engineering agreements (Apex Companies LLC, NTE $300,000) and a rebid for the Camelot project with an upcoming bid opening.
Public-works staff gave commissioners an update on several procurement items scheduled to appear on consent or upcoming agendas.
Savannah Clement, a public-works representative, reported that Wilcox & Flagle submitted the low bid to supply county fuel for the year at $758,000 and that the contract includes a regional price index to accommodate market fluctuations. "We have that built into the contract, and so we use a price index specific to fuel in our area," Clement said. Staff said the award has been made and execution of the contract is planned for the next meeting.
Clement also summarized a call for bids and scheduling: the Camelot loss-replacement project has been reworked and will be rebid, with a bid opening scheduled for March 23 at 1:30 p.m.; a hearing to consider vacating a portion of Todaf Road was set for March 17 at 9:30 a.m.; and a bid award list for culvert pipe, drainage products and related items was presented naming multiple vendors for the 2026 purchasing list.
Public works announced a local-agency consultant agreement with Apex Companies LLC for as-needed civil engineering services not to exceed $300,000 (through Dec. 31, 2028) intended for locally funded projects and emergency response. Staff said this is the first of three similar consultant agreements planned.
No formal vote outcomes were recorded in the transcript for these items during the meeting; staff indicated several of the procurement items will return for final signature or execution on upcoming consent agendas.
