Craig Harper summarized the packet and said legislative-branch appropriations are generally small and include statutorily required studies and a major appropriation for ballot analysis. Harper said the request from legislative counsel for the property tax audit was unchanged from the current year and that the Executive Committee had approved these items for inclusion. He also described the ballot-analysis request and the Executive Committee's decision to recommend $3,100,000 of general fund in FY2627 to support the Blue Book cash fund.
An unidentified committee member moved to approve the staff recommendation for legislative counsel and the General Assembly. The chair asked whether there were any objections and the motion passed on a recorded vote of 6 to 0.
What's next: Harper said staff will add placeholders for future legislative-branch items to the long bill balancing work if members direct them to do so.
