Plum Borough SD appoints John Zavorchek as director of finance and operations

The Plum Borough School District appointed John Zavorchek as director of finance and operations during its Dec. 9 meeting.
Board members praised Zavorchek’s more than 15 years of experience in guiding financial and operational teams and described his leadership style as focused on transparency and partnership. "John has a remarkable ability to bring teams together, clarify goals, move complex work forward," one board member said during the introduction.
Zavorchek, who identified himself as a Plum resident, thanked the board and said he plans to make school finance more accessible to the community. "I will try to do my best to educate you as Mr. Manser has and make it simple, engaging and talk about the hot topics out there," Zavorchek said, and noted he will work through timing with his current employer to ensure a smooth start.
The board also thanked departing business office staff and recognized the contributions of the outgoing manager, Ryan Manser. The appointment was announced from the floor and incorporated into the personnel agenda; administrative staff will coordinate transition logistics and start dates with Zavorchek.
