Staff said the signage project will standardize monumental signs, attached building signage and interior wayfinding across multiple facilities. Curtis Smith and Mackenzie Peckel Sensi said the RFQ selected a national firm with a local office and that the design contract covers civil, electrical and architectural design work; the RFQ award amount discussed for initial design was $291,000.
Representative Stewart and others pressed for a construction‑cost estimate for the full signage project; staff said the installation and construction phase could be several million dollars and later estimated a range of $3–4 million. On the hospital project, agency staff estimated the total cost of the Miami Valley Behavioral Health Hospital at $275,000,000, identified a preferred location at the former Herrna Arena in Trotwood, and said the project would include about 208 beds, though the final patient count will depend on the forensic patient mix. Both items were approved after discussion.
