Founder of International Women's Group asks council to support March 7 fashion fundraiser

During the public-comment period on Feb. 23, Sarah Megan Kelly, founder of the International Women’s Group of Muskogee, asked the council for support for a March 7 fashion-show fundraiser at the Dr. Martin Luther King Community Center.
Kelly said the fourth annual event celebrates international cultures and Women’s History Month, has featured local boutiques and designers, and will benefit the Rutha Timmons Cancer Foundation and the Relay For Life program. "This year, this is a benefit fundraiser for the Rutha Timmons Cancer Foundation and also the women who care relay for life organization," Kelly said. She encouraged council members and community sponsors to participate and offered sponsorship applications.
The council thanked Kelly for the announcement; no formal council action on sponsorship was recorded during the meeting.
