CU Anschutz asks committee to allow $22.5 million purchase of adjacent hotel

He said the campus would own the property while finalizing terms with a premier hotel management company to operate it.
The presentation emphasized benefits for patients and families who travel to Anschutz for care and would need post‑hospital follow‑up, and compared similar campus‑adjacent hotels at other academic medical centers. No committee members asked questions immediately after the presentation.
The Chair told members one excused member wished to vote and said the committee would "lay this over for action" until that member returned. The committee did not vote on the purchase request during the meeting.
Next steps: the committee left the CU Anschutz cash acquisition request pending action when the excused member is available to vote.
