Councilman Vicarello reported the committee had discussed fine schedules (section 4-57) and soliciting/peddling rules (section 4-30), noting current code limits food trucks and similar vendors to three locations (Park Avenue, Riverside Park and West End Beach). He said the committee heard inquiries from vendors wishing to use additional locations and is seeking public input before making code changes. "We are looking for public input on that," the councilmember said, and moved to set a public hearing for May 27 at 6:30 p.m., to be held at the recreation center because the regular chambers would be unavailable for Memorial Day.
Council asked counsel to review the draft law circulated last week and to provide bill numbers where available. The council approved setting the hearing and asked members of the public or councilors with proposed edits to contact council counsel prior to the hearing.
