The Jordan Public School District recognized two foreign-exchange students — Adam (Finland) and Martina (Spain) — with Jordan Pride awards and thanked the host families and Flag International for their partnership.
At the beginning of its Dec. 8 meeting, the Jordan Public School District board recognized two foreign-exchange students, Adam (from Finland) and Martina (from Spain), and presented Jordan Pride awards.
Jess Preimasberger, a Flag International chapter director, told the board she was “here to express my heartfelt gratitude towards Jordan Public Schools” for welcoming exchange students and thanked host families and school staff for supporting the program. Preimasberger said the organization — a U.S. Department of State-listed nonprofit — has facilitated cultural exchange for 36 years and highlighted the role of host families in helping students integrate into school and community life.
Board members and the principal praised both students for fitting into school activities, noted strong English skills and thanked the Poland and Gebruet families for hosting. The students left to attend a choir concert after receiving awards.
The recognition underscores the district’s ongoing participation in international exchange programs and the booster and family support that make hosting possible.
