Commission approves outdoor event fee increase to $12 and accepts prior minutes

At its Feb. 19 meeting, the Adams Tennis Complex Commission approved prior meeting minutes and voted to raise the outdoor fee for outside groups. Speaker 4 proposed increasing the outdoor fee from $6 per player to $12 per player per day, arguing the change would better capture revenue from long-running events and align the complex with industry rates. "It's $6 per player for the event. I'm asking that we go to, 12 and that we do that per day for the for each event," Speaker 4 said.

Speaker 3 moved to approve the adjusted outdoor fee and a second was recorded; the chair called for ayes and the motion passed. The chair also entertained a motion earlier in the meeting to approve the commission minutes from Nov. 20, 2025; Speaker 3 moved and Speaker 1 seconded and the ayes carried. Commissioners discussed that the fee increase would require outside organizers such as USTA-affiliated tournaments to reassess participant charges. Staff and commissioners said the proposed $12 rate is consistent with what some other local organizers charge and that it helps account for costs such as cleaning and staffing during events.
