The City of Corinth adopted an ordinance calling for a joint general and special election with Denton County to be held on May 2, 2026, to elect the mayor and council members for place 5 (regular three‑year term) and to fill an unexpired term for place 2 that ends in May 2028.
City staff explained that the ordinance is the required instrument for the county to assist with the local election in May. The council moved, seconded and the presiding officer announced the vote as unanimous; the transcript does not record individual vote tallies.
The city manager was authorized to execute the necessary documents to effectuate the election call.
