The Corinth City Council unanimously approved a resolution to participate in the Resilient Communities Program and accept grant funding from the Texas General Land Office to support a comprehensive update to the city's Unified Development Code (UDC).
City staff said the award provides up to $270,000 to help cover the project. "We became aware of a grant and sent an application for that, and so I'm very happy to report tonight we did receive the grant," said Mister Campbell during the discussion. Council then approved a related ordinance amending the FY2025–2026 budget to reflect the grant and the anticipated expenditure.
The staff presentation noted that the UDC is a critical document that contains the city's development standards and that updating it would require outside assistance and considerable staff time. The council voted to accept the grant by resolution and to amend the budget to increase planning and development funds by the grant amount.
Both the resolution and the related budget ordinance were moved, seconded and recorded by the chair as unanimous votes. The meeting record does not list individual vote tallies.
