Charles County delegation finalizes district night logistics and asks for nominations and photos

Arielle Moore, staff handling District 9 arrangements, gave the Charles County delegation a brief logistical update Feb. 6 on plans for an upcoming district night and a separate senior district night.

Moore said 48 participants had registered for the main district night and eight were signed up for the senior district night. She set a photo deadline for the slideshow as Feb. 20 at 5 p.m. and asked members to submit nominations for Women's History Month honorees by Feb. 13 at 5 p.m. "The deadline for that is, February 20 at 5PM so that I could then begin to put everything together," Moore said.

Moore said printed posters, postcards and digital flyers had been distributed to delegates and the Reginald Lewis Museum has been invited to bring items representative of Charles County. She said Senator Ellis's office will handle two buses, one for the senior event and one for the main district night, and the chair asked staff to check with Delegate C.T. Wilson about sponsoring an additional bus for a later run.

What's next: Moore said she is waiting on pickup and drop-off locations and times from Senator Ellis's office; delegates asked staff to follow up. At the close of the meeting Chair Delegate Deborah Davis called for a motion to adjourn, which Delegate Odom moved and an unidentified participant seconded; the motion carried by voice vote. Delegates confirmed scheduling details and the chair and participants settled on Feb. 20 as the next date for the delegation to meet.

No formal votes on policy items were held during the session.
