Staff also recommended allowing CE credit for attendance at Board meetings (but not committee meetings) and keeping live attendance as a prerequisite (recorded meeting viewing would not qualify) with verification via sign‑in/sign‑out sheets and online login records.
Christy Berger, the Board’s regulatory manager, said the edits respond to stakeholder concerns that non‑course activities could displace structured learning. “We propose to make that amendment to limit to 6 hours,” staff told the board during the CE discussion.
Public commenters and stakeholder groups expressed support for the staff changes. Shanti Esran of CAMFT thanked staff for incorporating changes that refined definitions and reduced the supervisory CE cap. In the meeting’s roll call, the board approved staff’s recommended responses and then voted to adopt the modified regulatory text for formal rulemaking; the motions carried by roll call votes recorded on the transcript.
