Prairie Meadows, Polk County present $59,665 to Urbandale Community School District

Prairie Meadows and the Polk County Board of Supervisors presented $59,665 to the Urbandale Community School District during the board meeting. A Prairie Meadows representative said the contribution is part of a longstanding program that returns a share of Prairie Meadows’ gross receipts to county schools based on student residency. The countywide program provides $1.3 million to Polk County students; since 2007 the partnership has returned more than $21.6 million to local students.
Board members and district staff described the donation as unrestricted funds that may be used at the district’s discretion to support students, faculty and staff. The district thanked Prairie Meadows and Polk County for ongoing support of public education in the community. A brief photo opportunity followed the presentation.
