Hendersonville parks board approves summer event permits, hears Eagle Scout kiosk plan

The Hendersonville Parks Board on Feb. 23 approved permits and staff directions for several upcoming community events, heard an Eagle Scout kiosk proposal for Memorial Park and received updates on maintenance and turf‑field work.

Sam Gilbert, director at Historic Rock Castle, requested use of Beatty Farm as overflow shuttle parking for the Nashville Symphony’s "By the Lake" concert on Wednesday, June 3. Gilbert said organizers expect between “4 and 6000” attendees and plan to use Summer County Schools buses to shuttle patrons to Rock Castle. Board members and staff discussed construction impacts at Beatty Farm, the need for police and parking crews, and short‑term restroom access; staff agreed to coordinate logistics and, if necessary, provide porta‑potties. A motion to approve the request was made by Mister Bennett and seconded by Miss Hellman and carried by voice vote.
