Port Jervis CDA moves to map feeder main under $200,000 risk grant and start procurement work

The Port Jervis Community Development Agency reported on Sept. 9 that the city will begin technical work tied to a previously awarded $200,000 risk grant to support resilience and capital planning.
Councilwoman Dennison moved that engineer James Farr be authorized to provide the technical mapping and deliverables needed to complete the grant contract and to develop the request‑for‑proposal and procurement documents in coordination with New York State Homes and Community Renewal. The motion was seconded and approved.
Dennison said the work focuses on mapping a 24‑inch main feeder line that runs from the water filtration plant through Reservoir Avenue, which the CDA believes lies beneath the spillway at Reservoir 1. The mapping is intended to inform rehabilitation or rebuilding of the spillway and replacement of the feeder line; the CDA reported the $200,000 award will fund the technical grant work.
Council discussion confirmed that two agenda items had been combined into a single resolution per email from staff but that engineer services were included in the combined motion. Council asked staff to coordinate the mapping deliverables with state grant requirements.
