Trousdale County Schools report chiller delivery, field house work and roof repairs

District administrators told the Trousdale County Board of Education that several facilities projects are progressing: a new chiller for the middle school has been delivered and set on a newly poured concrete pad, roof leaks at the elementary school are being repaired under a 20-year warranty, and work continues on the field house (lighting, showers and floors).

The director said Bransford will install the chiller next week and that the unit should be operational by the time warmer weather arrives. On the elementary roof, district staff reported the warranty is being honored and repairs were performed. At the high school, overly sensitive fire sensors have caused frequent false alarms; the district will ask a vendor to inspect and lower sensitivity settings to reduce nuisance activations.

On the field house timeline: the director and board discussed a certificate of occupancy target date of February 27 but cautioned that delays could push move-in until March. The board noted some finish items (lighting configuration, shower installation and flooring) remain and that asphalt and final exterior work are scheduled in coming weeks.
