During agenda review the court publicized a press release from communications officer Bridal Walker about a county-hosted American Red Cross blood drive on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 in the EMS Training Room adjacent to the courthouse. The release emphasized shortages of platelets and the O-negative and B-negative blood types and encouraged donations.
Smith also reviewed a fees-and-commissions report for January showing a small decrease in some revenue lines tied to real-estate transactions and an increase in vehicle-transaction revenue; he said the county expects a sound fiscal year.
The county did not propose changes to election processes at the meeting; the clerk offered contact details for assistance to residents who need help registering, updating addresses or requesting absentee ballots.
