At its Feb. 23 meeting the Bethlehem Area School District board approved minutes, committee and consent agenda items (finance, facilities, curriculum and human resources) and announced the hire of Georgeann Fisher as chief human resources officer; multiple votes recorded as 9–0.
The Bethlehem Area School District Board of Directors approved several consent-agenda packages and personnel items at its regular meeting on Feb. 23.
The board voted to approve the Jan. 28 meeting minutes and committee minutes (Feb. 2 facilities & curriculum; Feb. 9 finance & human resources). It also approved finance consent items 701–704 and finance items 13.1–13.12; facility items 1101–1104; and curriculum items 1201–1206. Votes were conducted by roll call and multiple motions were recorded as carrying by a 9–0 margin.
On human resources matters the board approved HR items 14.1–14.3 and noted retirements, including Denise Parker of Northeast Middle School. The presiding officer announced the district has hired Georgeann Fisher as chief human resources officer; Fisher was not present at the meeting and is expected to begin in late spring.
Board comments were brief and procedural for most consent items, though Mister Alozi asked a question about increases in district polling-place use while the finance package was discussed. The board reported an earlier executive session covered personnel and legal matters and scheduled a brief executive session before adjournment.
What happens next: Approved staffing and consent items will be implemented per district procedures; the administration will bring a CEP presentation to the board in April for policy consideration.
