Senate adopts resolutions recognizing Minnesota Senate staff for years of service

The Minnesota Senate adopted two resolutions on Feb. 23 recognizing the service of Senate employees.
Senate Resolution 62, sponsored by Senators Murphy, Johnson and Champion, recognizes Minnesota Senate employees for milestone years of service. Senator Murphy moved to adopt the resolution and explained that the chamber annually acknowledges staff who have served for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 35 years. "As we do every year, we are recognizing the committed and brilliant work of Senate staff for their 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 35 years of service," Murphy said. The resolution passed by voice vote.
Senate Resolution 63, introduced by the same sponsors, similarly recognizes staff who work as session-only employees; Senator Murphy moved to adopt and the motion prevailed by voice vote.
Both resolutions are ceremonial acknowledgments and do not impose policy changes or budgetary commitments. They appear on the Senate record as adopted on Feb. 23, 2026.
